GARCETTI LAUNCHES HOLLYWOOD HOT SPOT

This week, Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti launched Hollywood Hot Spot, a free eight-week summer program for Hollywood-area high school students that is taking place at Helen Bernstein High School.

“We want to make sure that Hollywood teens have a safe, supervised, and fun place to be this summer, and Hollywood Hot Spot will have a lot to offer anyone who wants to participate,” said Council President Garcetti. “From music to art to sports, there is something for everyone at the Hollywood Hot Spot.  And the air conditioning alone might make the Hot Spot one of the coolest places to be this summer!”

Hollywood Hot Spot provides participants with the opportunity to learn to play instruments and form a rock band through Sound Art, create urban art with Creative Art Solutions, run with Nike’s Breakfast Club, screen movies with Generation Obama, and more.  Programs are offered Wednesday through Sunday with varying hours depending on the day and activity. For more information about the schedule, please call 323-957-4500.

Hollywood Hot Spot kicked-off with a free community barbecue that included music provided by DJ Roueche for VALA Entertainment and an L.A. King’s-sponsored at puck shooting game (pictured above) as well as prize give-aways.
