NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCILS TO ELECT LEADERS IN JUNE

In June, many neighborhood councils across the city will hold elections.  Among those selecting leaders will be Greater Echo Park Elysian, Hollywood Studio District, and Wilshire Center-Koreatown Neighborhood Councils.  Participating in a local neighborhood council is a great way to make positive changes in the community.

SOUTH LOS ANGELES NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCILS HOLD REGIONAL CONGRESS TO ADDRESS PUBLIC SAFETY AND PLANNING ISSUES

At the Silver Lake ReservoirCouncil President Garcetti joined members of neighborhood councils from South Los Angeles and other areas of the city for the first-ever regional Neighborhood Congress on Saturday.  The event included workshops on reducing gang violence and ensuring community redevelopment and planning benefit our neighborhoods.
 
Council President Garcetti thanked the Congress participants for their commitment to improving our communities.   



 

HAPPY YOM HA'ATZMAUT: CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF ISRAEL'S INDEPENDENCE

Council President Eric Garcetti joined thousands of Los Angeles residents at the Israel InHIstoric Filipinotown and Thai Town resolutionsdependence Day celebration at Woodley Park this weekend.


"The birth and life of the state of Israel demonstrates what the courage of one people can do.  The integration of Israel's economy and culture into our world has enriched us all.  Without Israel, Los Angeles would not be the same place.  May the next 60 years be years of prosperity, peace, and continuing friendship," said Council President Garcetti.
