Recommendation for Council action:

ADOPT the accompanying RESOLUTIONS removing the following properties from the Rent Escrow Account Program (REAP), inasmuch as the owner(s) have corrected the cited REAP violations and provided proof of compliance with the Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Department (LAHCID), Code Enforcement Unit, habitability citations, pursuant to Ordinance 173810, and ADOPT the Findings contained in the LAHCID's report attached to the Council File:

MOTION (CEDILLO - HARRIS-DAWSON) relative to funding for the Northeast Jazz Festival.

 

Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR:

 

  1. TRANSFER $30,000, or any available balance lesser than this amount which may be remaining, in the Council's portion of the Heritage Month Celebration and Special Events line item in the General City Purposes Fund No. 100/56 to the Cultural Affairs Fund No. 100/30, Account No. 3040 (Contractual Services) to fund any aspect of the Northeast Jazz Festival.

  2. AUTHORIZE the City Clerk or the Cultural Affairs Department to make any technical corrections or clarifications to the above instructions in order to effectuate the intent of this Motion.

MOTION (O'FARRELL - MARTINEZ) relative to funding for the Los Angeles Conservation Corps for the design, engineering, demolition and excavation of an existing median island.

 

Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR:

 

  1. TRANSFER/APPROPRIATE $146,060 in the AB1290 Fund No. 53P, Account No. 281213 (CD 13 Redevelopment Projects - Services) to the Public Works Fund No. 100/74, Account No. 3040 (Contractual Services) for the efforts of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps for the design, engineering, demolition and excavation of an existing median island at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Gail Street, in Elysian Valley.

  2. AUTHORIZE the Board of Public Works to make any corrections or clarifications to the above fund transfer instructions in order to effectuate the intent of this Motion.

MOTION (PRICE - HARRIS-DAWSON) relative to reinstating the reward offer in the deaths of Clifton Hibbert Jr. and Kenneth Patterson for an additional six months.

 

Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR:

 

REAFFIRM Council's findings and REINSTATE the reward offer relative to the deaths of Clifton Hibbert Jr. and Kenneth Patterson (Council action of April 15, 2008) for an additional period of six months from the publication of the offer of reward by the Office of the City Clerk, and, further, that the sum of $75,000 shall be the aggregate maximum sum of any payment or payments of a City reward in this instance.
