Recommendations for Council action:

CONSIDERATION OF MOTION (BLUMENFIELD - O'FARRELL) relative to utility connection costs at temporary shelter projects, options to reduce the costs of installing necessary utilities, and the feasibility of creating temporary or alternate standards for the installation of utility connections.

Recommendation for Council action:

INSTRUCT the Bureau of Engineering, Department of General Services, and the City Administrative Officer, with the assistance of the Bureau of Contract Administration, Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, and any other necessary City departments; and, REQUEST the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, to report on the costs of utility connections at temporary shelter projects and options to reduce the costs of installing necessary utilities, including reporting on the feasibility of creating a temporary or alternate standard for the installation of utility connections to bring down costs.
