2. AUTHORIZE the BSS to make any technical corrections or clarifications as necessary to the above instructions in order to effectuate the intent of this Motion.

MOTION (WESSON - PRICE) relative to funding for the efforts of Mothers in Action for the 2017-18 Taste of Soul event.

Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR:

1. TRANSFER and APPROPRIATE $80,000 in the Arts and Cultural Facilities Services Trust Fund to the Cultural, Art and City Events line item in the General City Purposes Fund No. 100/56 for the efforts of Mothers in Action for the 2017-18 Taste of Soul event, inasmuch as these funds reverted to the Trust Fund before they were encumbered at the close of the last fiscal year.
   
   
2. DIRECT the City Clerk to prepare the necessary document(s) or agreements(s) with Mothers in Action, or any other agency or organization, as appropriate, in the above amount, for the above purpose, subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form, if needed; and that the Council member of the Tenth District be authorized to execute any such documents on behalf of the City, as may be needed.
   
   
3. AUTHORIZE the City Clerk to make any corrections, clarifications or revisions to the above fund transfer instructions, including any new instructions, in order to effectuate the intent of this Motion.

MOTION (O'FARRELL - MARTINEZ) relative to including the Grand Park Celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day to be held on Monday, October 8, 2018, in the list of Citywide Special Events.

Recommendation for Council action:

INSTRUCT the Chief Legislative Analyst to include in the list of Citywide Special Events the Grand Park Celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day.

MOTION (HARRIS-DAWSON - BONIN) relative to the contribution of $65,000 from the Katie McGrath and J J Abrams Family Foundation for the destinationCrenshaw Outdoor Museum project in Council District Eight.

Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR:

1. ACCEPT the amount of $65,000 contributed by Katie McGrath, and instruct the City Clerk to deposit this amount in the Council District Eight  Public Benefits Trust Fund No. 49F to be used for the destinationCrenshaw Outdoor Museum project.
   
   
2. AUTHORIZE the City Clerk to make any corrections, clarifications or revisions to the above fund transfer instructions, including any new instructions, in order to effectuate the intent of this motion.

MOTION (HUIZAR - MARTINEZ) relative to a contract extension with Kounkuey Design Initiative, Incorporated for the development of a citywide program that may empower communities to enact temporary, car-free street spaces.

Recommendation for Council action:

AUTHORIZE the Los Angeles Department of Transportation to execute a contract extension with Kounkuey Design Initiative, Incorporated (C-126146), under the current terms and conditions, for up to one year, to complete the Citywide Play Streets  Program.

MOTION (WESSON - ENGLANDER FOR BLUMENFIELD) relative to appointing John Parker to the Innovation and Performance Commission.

Recommendation for Council action:

APPOINT, pursuant to Section 8.231 of the Los Angeles Administrative Code, and based on the nomination of the Chair of the Public Works and Gang Reduction Committee, John Parker to the Innovation and Performance Commission to fill the vacated seat of Ms. Cynthia Weichelt whose term ended January 6, 2018.

MOTION (HARRIS-DAWSON - WESSON ) relative to rescinding  the Council action of July 3, 2018 and referring the entire matter to the Homelessness and Poverty Committee for further review.

Recommendation for Council action:

RESCIND the Council action of July 3, 2018 relative to instructing the City Administrative Officer, with the assistance of any necessary departments, to prepare and submit an application to the State for funding from the Emergency Aid Block Grants to Local Governments in the State Budget for 2018-19 on behalf of the City, (Council file No. 18-0628); and, REFER the entire matter to the Homelessness and Poverty Committee for further review.
