CONSIDERATION OF MOTION (KORETZ - HUIZAR) relative to asserting jurisdiction over the Central Los Angeles Area Planning Commission (CLAAPC) action for the property located at 6400 West Hayes Drive.

 

Recommendations for Council action:

 

  1. ASSERT jurisdiction, pursuant to Section 245 of the Los Angeles City Charter, over the January 9, 2018 CLAAPC action to grant in part/deny in part the appeal and approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness for the construction of a two-story 873 square-foot addition to a one-story 1,370 square-foot Contributing Structure on a comer lot in the Carthay Circle Historic Preservation Overlay Zone, for the property located at 6400 West Hayes Drive (Case No. DIR-2017-2204-COA-1A, Environmental No. ENV-2017-2205-CE).

  2. REFER the matter, upon assertion of jurisdiction, to Planning and Land Use Management Committee for further review.

CONSIDERATION OF MOTION (KREKORIAN - WESSON) relative to expanding the size of the firefighting force and restoring critical firefighting resources.

 

Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR:

 

  1. AUTHORIZE the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) to modify the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Firefighter Recruit Training schedule to add one Firefighter recruit class to be held at the Harbor Recruit Training Academy (Drill Tower 40) from January 22, 2018 through June 7, 2018.

  2. RESOLVE that the resolution authority to the LAFD for 48 Firefighter III (Code 2112-3) positions, upon allocation by the Civil Service Commission, from January 22, 2018 through June 30, 2018 is APPROVED and CONFIRMED.
