- REQUEST Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) to report on the impact of President Trump’s executive order on immigration (Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry to the United States) on LAX, including the impact on airport traffic, delayed/cancelled flights, the impact of detained individuals on terminal congestion and schedule delays, and LAWA's jurisdictional controls and limitations in working with and responding to federal agencies onsite at LAX.
- REQUEST LAWA to ensure that any traveler who is affected by sudden, arbitrary, and potentially unconstitutional changes to immigration laws be treated with respect and consideration for their health, well-being, and human and civil rights.
- REQUEST that LAWA work with United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to ensure access to food and water, blankets and access to counsel for detainees; explore establishing a protocol for the ability to inspect the CBP holding areas by LAWA or someone that represents the City; and engage the Red Cross or other humanitarian organizations that may have access under international law to assist detainees.
