CONSIDERATION OF MOTION (ENGLANDER - BLUMENFIELD) relative to a report published by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health on the results of in-home testing of homes in proximity to the Aliso Canyon gas leak.

 

Recommendation for Council action:

 

REQUEST the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to:

 

  1. Host a town hall meeting on the results of their in-home contaminants testing for both air quality and surface dust, as well as their health survey of residents. This meeting should cover the testing results and their health-related implications, as well as an explanation of their cleaning protocol recommendations, who to contact to arrange for this cleaning, and how it will be funded.

  2. Provide a dedicated hotline for residents in the five-mile relocation zone so that they may timely have their questions, or those of their health care practitioners, answered by subject experts.

CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION (CEDILLO - HARRIS-DAWSON) relative to establishing the City's position regarding allocation of $1.3 billion towards housing programs to address the affordability crisis.

 

Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE OF THE MAYOR:

 

RESOLVE that the City of Los Angeles include in its 2015-16 State Legislative Program, SUPPORT for State Legislative efforts to allocate over $1.3 billion towards a variety of housing programs to address the affordability crisis.
