AD HOC COMMITTEE ON THE 2024 SUMMER OLYMPICS REPORT relative to a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles 2024 Exploratory Committee (LA24) regarding the City's Candidature to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

 

Recommendations for Council action:
       

  1. APPROVE the revised MOU between the City of Los Angeles and LA24; and, AUTHORIZE the Mayor and City Council President to execute the MOU.

  2. INSTRUCT the City Administrative Officer (CAO) and the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA) and REQUEST LA24 to present a progress report on the Candidature Process prior to the February 17, 2016, Stage 1 submission deadline to provide the Council with a comprehensive update on key issues including but not limited to the Olympic Village, the proposed venue plan, and any Stage 1 International Olympic Committee submittal requirements.
     

Fiscal Impact Statement: The CAO and the CLA report that there is no General Fund impact as a result of the recommended actions.

Community Impact Statement: Yes.

  2. REAFFIRM the FINDINGS of June 10, 2015, that this vacation is in substantial conformance with the General Plan pursuant to Section 556 of the Los Angeles City Charter.

  3. ADOPT the accompanying RESOLUTION TO VACATE No. 15-1401250 for the vacation of Pass Road between Hillrose Street and Wayside Drive.

  4. INSTRUCT the City Clerk to transmit, following Council adoption, Resolution to Vacate No. 15-1401250 to the Land Development Group of the Bureau of Engineering for recordation of said Resolution with the Los Angeles County Recorder.
