Los Angeles City Clerk J. Michael Carey reminds Los Angeles residents to register to vote by Monday May 5, 1997 in order to vote in the General Municipal Election on Tuesday June 3, 1997. The election will be held in the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Unified School District and the Los Angeles Community College District. To be eligible to register, residents must be citizens of the United States and at least 18 years old by election day.

Citizens can register or re-register to vote in person at the Office of the City Clerk, Election Division, 700 E. Temple St., Room B-23, Los Angeles, CA 90012 or at Los Angeles County's Registrar-Recorder's Office, 12400 Imperial Hwy., Norwalk, CA 90650. They may also register by mail using registration forms that can be obtained at public counters in all City departments and Libraries, Los Angeles County Libraries, County Fire Stations, the Department of Motor Vehicle or by contacting the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder at (310) 462-2748.
