Discussion and/or action, and presentation by Uduak-Joe Ntuk, Petroleum Administrator, Office of Petroleum and Natural Gas, relative to the Hydrocarbons Extraction Health Impact Study.

Discussion and/or action relative to filling empty Commission seats and absentee Commission members.

 

Commission 1st Vice-President Sharp reported that two additional commissioners have been appointed.  Also, two solid applications have been submitted to Council Districts One and Six for qualified individuals to serve on behalf of those communities.

Discussion and/or action relative to public comment protocol.

Motion (Sharp - Kato) approved to establish a public comment protocol, which limits each speaker to two (2) minutes per item with a total of five (5) minutes per meeting.

  • To schedule a discussion item for action regarding the presentation from last month on the proximity of housing construction adjacent to freeways

  • Proposals to cover freeways with parkways

  • Presentation by the Los Angeles County, Counseling Assessment

  • Public hearing on oil extraction; then discussion on highways, etc.

  • Presentation on Homelessness and Hepatitis A

  • Access to Emergency care, both in certain regions or throughout the City

  • Presentation by the EMS to give an update on resources

  • Health Commission report
