Neighborhood Council Comments (pursuant to Ordinance No. 184243)
Neighborhood Council representatives will be afforded an opportunity to provide the Commission with its formal position on any matter listed on the agenda, provided it has been filed with the City Clerk in the form of a Community Impact Statement or written Resolution.
- Dr. Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, Medical Director of Public Health, County of Los Angeles: Update on County response and outreach concerning Zika Virus and Meningitis.
- Sonya Vazquez, Chief Program Officer, Community Health Clinics: Overview of changes in medical insurance access and access to care.
- Yolanda Chavez, Office of the City Administrative Officer: City of Los Angeles Comprehensive Homeless Strategy.
Report back from working groups on Homelessness and Lifestyles and discussion and possible action on consolidation of working groups and or elimination of low membership working groups.
Discussion and possible action to recommend continuation of contract with the County for Health Department Services.
Update on research for Council request regarding mapping of wells and pipelines.
Substitute Motion (Jacquez - Vick) continue Resolution (Shannon - Sharp - Vick) to September 2016, and ensure community partners, utility entities, including the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Southern California Gas Company, Southern California Edison, Liberty Hill Foundation and South Coast Air Quality Management District and any other entity strictly impacted, are invited to attend and testify on the proposed 1,500-foot buffer zone on oil and gas drilling in residential neighborhoods.
